Who is this Goat?

Bill Sanders is a retired tech writer living in Mexico. He got his
nickname when he was living off-grid in the Colorado High Country,
scrambling over rocks and peaks.

He knows Latin America well: he’s seen almost all of it save the
Caribbean, and he has Spanish language, political science, and
Latin American history degrees. In 2008 he edited and published the
Oaxaca letters of a Canadian archaeologist

He is currently putting the finishing touches on the story of his
1970-71 backpack/hitchhike the length of the Western Hemisphere. The book, Crossing Borders (And Other Boundaries) will be available for sale in November 2011.

This blog may morph into Lord-knows-what — but it will start out as
a running commentary on travel (he’s seen a lot of Asia; in fact he
left both Vietnam and Malaysia under somewhat questionable
conditions), on Latin America, and on writing. He would like nothing
better than to have this commentary devolve into an exchange.

He lives with his wife Marci Bowman on the Western end of Lake
Chapala, where he rambles in the hills above El Sauz, San Pedro, San
Luciano, and Zapotitan.
